What is recovery like?
Recovery depends on the procedure. Many women return to light activity within a few days after hysteroscopy and within one to two weeks after laparoscopy, with longer recovery after more extensive surgery. Dr. Moyers goes through your recovery plan before surgery and checks on you afterward.

What is the recovery time for minimally invasive gynecologic surgery?
Many patients go home the same day. Recovery ranges from a few days after hysteroscopy to a few weeks after more extensive laparoscopic or robotic surgery. Dr. Moyers gives you a timeline for your specific procedure.
Is laparoscopic surgery safe?
Yes. Laparoscopy is a well-established approach with lower rates of infection and blood loss than open surgery. As with any surgery there are risks, which Dr. Moyers reviews with you before you decide.
Will I need surgery for endometriosis or fibroids?
Not always. Many women manage endometriosis and fibroids with medication, hormonal treatment or monitoring. Surgery is recommended when symptoms continue despite treatment or when it offers the best chance of relief.
How do I know if I need gynecologic surgery?
Surgery may be considered when pelvic pain, heavy bleeding, fibroids, endometriosis or cysts keep affecting your life despite medical treatment, or when a diagnosis can only be confirmed by looking inside the pelvis. A consultation helps you weigh every option.
